Edge AI is Taking Center Stage

From enhancing manufacturing processes to transforming customer experiences in retail and hospitality, Edge AI is set to redefine the technological landscape. The Edge AI market is expected to double by 2029. That’s because, beyond its pivotal role in the future of computing, when applied at the edge near users, AI is poised to reshape industries, from smart manufacturing to autonomous vehicles.  Recent industry events have made that clear.

For example, at Taipei’s COMPUTEX and InnoVEX 2025 in late May, we saw signs of a transformative shift in the discussed themes and showcased exhibits. The new energy at this event points to a future where Edge AI chips play an essential role in various industries.  Against a backdrop of excitement about Nvidia’s plan to build an AI supercomputer and open a new headquarters in Taipei, Edge AI industry players, from embedded platforms to processor suppliers, had announcements of their own.

For example, Innatera unveiled its Pulsar microcontroller, a neuromorphic processor built on the RISC-V architecture, Femtosense introduced its AI-ADAM-100 microcontroller unit for voice processing, and Synaptics showcased its Astra platform for multimodal Edge AI applications.

At InnoVEX, POLYN was part of the Israeli Pavilion, which featured eight startups showcasing advancements in AI technology and applications, emphasizing international collaboration in the AI sector. Riding the wave of demand for Edge AI, POLYN introduced new voice processing capabilities of our NeuroVoice neuromorphic cores family. The POLYN team enjoyed so many productive meetings that we lost count, with valuable discussions on new applications for NeuroVoice.

The fact that Edge AI companies participate in the trade show, which has traditionally focused on general computing, highlights the rapid advancements in Edge AI technology. By delivering efficient, low-latency processing capabilities directly on devices, these companies are paving the way for smarter, more responsive applications across various industries.
